Dave's Gourmet Waffles Recipe

2 C flour
2 T sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs - separated
1 1/2 C milk
1/4 C oil

1 Hot Dog sliced thinly
1 banana sliced thinly
1/2 c chopped pecans
1/2 c Blueberries
Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Separate egg yolks and whites. Yolks go in the bowl with the dry ingredients. Add milk and oil to dry ingredients.
Whip egg yolks until stiff. Mix liquid and dry ingredients except egg whites sparingly.
Fold in egg whites and stir in gently.

Pour batter in the center of a Hot and oiled waffle iron. Leave 1 inch from edge as batter will spread out when lid is closed.

Add pecans, bananas, blue berries, hot dogs, etc to the waffle iron close the lid. Waffles will be done when they stop steaming.

When done, lift lid and carefully remove with fork.

Serve hot with real maple syrup (Liz brings it from New England)

Cook on hot waffle iron. I prefer the irons with the small dimples - not the Belgian ones. The waffles will be crisper.
