Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
¾ cup water
¼ Tsp. Salt
3 eggs yolks
1 Tsp. Vanilla
½ cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in a 1 ½ quart dish. Microwave on full power for 11 minutes. Stir mixture and then microwave at full power for 10 minutes more. While syrup mixture cooks, beat egg whites until stiff in large mixing bowl. Gradually pour hot syrup over egg whites, while beating at high speed until mixture is thickened and candy starts to lose it gloss. Beating might require 10 to 12 minutes. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Don’t try this on a rainy day. It won’t set.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe by Phyllis Part, wife of John, was "lifted" from a cookbook available online. Marie found the recipe, and then she sent in on to me. It sounds too good to not include in our book. Besides, Phyllis is family!
