About 1/2 lb of sirloin simmered in water in large stock pot to cover for about 4 hours. Refrigerate overnight and skim off fat. Remove meat and pull into shredded pieces. Set aside. To the stock add 2 stalks celery chopped up, 1 medium onion chopped, 1 large bag mixed frozen vegetables, frozen chopped okra, 3/4 cup barley or 2 medium potatoes cut up, 2 cups cabbage chopped up, a 28 ounce can of tomatoes crushed with your hands, thyme leaves, fresh parsley. Dissolve 6 boullion cubes in 1 cup water in pyrex pitcher in microwave. Add to the soup stock. Add beef to soup. Simmer about 3 hours, salt to taste.
