CRUST: 2 c flour
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c butter softened

CARAMEL:
1 c butter
1 1/2 c brown sugar
3 tbsp corn syrup
2 c chopped pecans

TOP:
12 oz chocolate chips

Preheat oven 350º
Mix crust ingredients in mixing bowl at medium speed until well mixed and dough forms fine particles. Pat dough into a 13x9 pan. Sprinkle nuts over crust
In saucepan over medium heat, mix butter, syrup and brown sugar for caramel. Bring to a boil. Boil for one minute stirring constantly.
Pour caramel over nuts and crust. Bake 18-22 minutes until surface bubbles all over.
Remove pan from oven and pour chocolate chips evenly all over. Let stand briefly to melt then spread chocolate. Cool. Cut into squares.

This isn't easy to cut in the pan. I find it works better to get the whole thing out of the pan in one piece while it is still a little warm (it won't fall apart)and then cut it into bite size pieces. It is like candy!
