Ingredients: 1 German Chocolate cake mix 6 squares of German chocolate; melted Filling: 1 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk 1/2 c water 3 egg yolks 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 c (2 sticks) butter 1 1/3 c pecans chopped (reserve 10 for garnish) 1 3/4 c angel flake coconut Side Frosting: 1 stick butter, softened 9 squares Baker's German chocolate melted & cooled 1 1/2 c powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 T milk

Directions:Mix and bake cake according to box direction, adding 6 squares of melted baking chocolate to cake mix. Divide into 3 - 8 inch pans. For fillling Cook milk, eggs and water stirring constantly until thickened. Add vanilla and butter; whisk until butter is melted and filling is smooth. Add chopped pecans and coconut. Chocolate Frosting for sides Mix butter and choc in medium bowl. Stir in powdered sugar. Beat in vanilla and milk until smooth spreading consistency. Layer cake and filling and frost sides of cake. |
