5 lbs Back ribs cut in 3" pieces
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 OXO onion cube or liptons onion soup
1 c. boiling water
1 Western Barbecue Sauce receipe (see below)

Western Barbecue Sauce:
1 tbsp butter, margarine or cooking oil
3/4 c. minced raw onion
1 c. ketchup
1 c boiling water
1 OXO beef cube
1/2 c molasses
1/4 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. vinegar
2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp salt and pepper
Dash of cayenne

Beef:
Dissolve OXO onion cube in boiling water. Pour over ribs in large container. Add more water to cover ribs. Sprinkle with salt and bring to boil. Boil 15 mins. Drain off water. Add prepared Western Barbecue Sauce and bake at 350º for 1 hour basting occasionally. Cover with foil and continue cooking until tender, about 1/2 hour.

Western Barbecue Sauce:
Saute onions in butter. Dissolve OXO beef cube in boiling water, stir into the onion. Add ketchup and remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 20 mins.
