1 large loaf white bread
1 1/2 lbs thinly sliced longhorn cheese
1 c raisins
2 c brown sugar
2 1/2 qts water
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly toast the bread slices. Soak raisins in small amount of warm water and then drain off liquid. In a large baking dish, layer the bread, the cheese and raisins, starting with the bread and ending with raisins. Repeat until you have used all of the ingredients. In a large saucepan, combine the water, brown sugar and cinnamon and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add the butter, and simmer for about 15 minutes. Pour hot syrup over the layers in the baking dish until all ingredients are covered. Cover dish with foil and bake for an hour. Serve hot or cold.
