Using an elastic or string, secure a square of festive fabric or paper over lid of a jar and attach a recipe card before giving!

1) Layer the following ingredients in a large glass jar; 1 cup EACH sugar, flour and quick-cooking oats, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp salt. Top with 6 squares of Baker's semi-sweet chocolate, coarsley chopped.

2) Close lid tightly and store at room temperature until ready to give or use.

3) RECIPE to ATTACH:

Preheat oven to 375. Beat 3/4 c softened butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy; beat in 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla.

Stir cookie mix into butter mixture until well blended. Spoon heaping tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet for 1 minute. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
