3/4c. butter

1 1/2c. sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2c. mashed banana

1tsp. vanilla

2c. flour

1tsp. baking soda

1tsp. salt

1/2c. buttermilk

1/2c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º

2. Cream the butter and sugar together until very light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.

3. Beat in the bananas and vanilla.

4. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and the salt and add alternately with the buttermilk to the batter.
Fold in the nuts.

5. Turn the mixture into 2 well-greased loaf pans.

5. Bake approx. 1 hour. Cool on a rack.
