2 c. flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
4 ½ tsp. baking powder
2 T. sugar
½ tsp. salt
¾ tsp. cream of tartar
¾ c. butter
1 large egg

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1st 6 ingredients. Cut butter into mixture until it resembles corn meal. Add egg and milk, stirring quickly and briefly. Knead lightly on floured surface. Roll or pat gently to 1 inch thickness. Cut into 1 or 2 inch biscuits. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 450°
