Wash cucmbers and cover with boiling water in a crock.
Change water every day for 4 days. 5th day slice cucumbers. Make syrup with 4cups apple vinegar, 8c. sugar 2 T. pickling salt and 2 T. mixed spices tied into a cheese cloth bag. Bring to a boil and add to cucmbers in the crock.
6th day reheat syrup and pour over pickles.
7th day heat cucmbers in syrup and pack into sterlized jars. Pour syrup into jars and seal...watch for air spaces

This is a favourite recipe that my family loves. Thank goodnes for 4-H to get me started and a mom and mother in law Nora G. who helped me make them perfect...Wonderful with salmon sandwiches..This is time consuming but never give up.
