Ingredients: 2 lbs raw hamburger 12 6” corn tortillas 2 28-ounce cans of tomato puree 2 cups hot picante sauce 2 cups grated cheese 1 small package sour cream 4 approximately 14-ounce cans of non-fat refried beans

Directions:Pre-heat oven to 350F.
Cook the hamburger and drain the grease Add tomato puree and picante sauce, let simmer
Spread a thin layer of margarine on one side of the tortillas.
Pour a thin layer of the meat sauce into a 9” x 13” pan. Layer 6 tortillas on top of the sauce. They will overlap. Spread 2 cans of refried beans over the tortillas. Spread a layer of half the remaining meat sauce over the beans. Repeat with the remaining tortillas, beans and sauce.
Dollop the sour cream onto the top layer of sauce. Let some of the sauce show through. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake for one hour. Allow to cool for about one hour before serving. Cut into squares and serve. |
