1 lb Orange Slices-cut up
1 pkg Dates-cut up
1 can Glaked Coconut
2 cups choppped Nuts-pecans
3 1/2 cups Flour-sifted
1/2 t Salt
1 cup Oleo or Crisco
2 cups Sugar
4 well beated Eggs
1 t Soda
1/2 cup Buttermilk
1 cup Orange Juice
2 cups Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine and set aside orange slices, dates, coconut, and nuts. Mix together, flour and salt. Then take out 1/2 cup of the flour mixture and mix well with the candy mixture. Cream oleo and add sugar and eggs. Combine soda in buttermilk and add to the rest of the flour mixture blending well. Add the candy mixture and mix well. Pour in greased and floured large tube pan and bake @ 350º for 1 hour and 45 min. When done remove from oven and combine orange juice and powdered sugar. Mix well and pour over cake while still hot. Cool then place it in ice box overnight before removing from pan.

Makes a large 4 or 5 lb cake.
