1 cup Butter milk
1 t Soda
1 cups Sugar
1 stick Oleo
1/2 cup Stortening
5 Eggs-separated
2 cups Flour
1 t Vanilla
1 cup shopped Pecans
1 sm can Coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Combine soda & milk and let stand a few min. Cream sugar, oleo and shortening. Add egg yolks one at a time beating after each addition. Add buttermilk alternately with flour to creamed mixture. Sir in vanilla and beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold into batter and gently stir in pecans nad coconut. Bake in 3 9" greased & floured pans.

Bake @ 325º for 25 min.

Frosting;
1 box Powdered Sugar
1 t Vanilla
8oz Cream Cheese
1 stick Oleo

Cream-cream cheese & oleo and add sugar and vanilla.
Cream together and spread on cooled cake.
