2-1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 C. granulated sugar
1 C. fresh cranberries
1 C. chopped dates
2-1/2 T. grated orange rind
2 large eggs, beaten
3/4 C. veg. oil
1/3 C. buttermilk
Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients, stir in walnuts, cranberries, dates and orange rind. Mix all dry ingredients together in large bowl. Combine oil and buttermilk and add to dry ingredients and mix and blend with fruit mixture. Spoon batter into 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour, until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 mins. and remove from pan.

Glaze:
1 C. sugar
1 C. orange juice
1/4 C. brandy
Combine 1 C. sugar, orange juice and brandy and drizzle over cake. Let cool and wrap in heavy foil. Chill for 24 hours or up to 8 weeks. Serve with whipped cream.

One of Mom's all time favorites which she only starting making in the last 10 years or so. The longer it is stored, the better the flavor, of course.
