3 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
2/3 c shortening
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c molasses
1 egg
1/2 c water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour with other dry ingredients together. In a mixing bowl work shortening until creamy, stir in sugars and molasses. Beat until fluffy. Add egg and beat again. Add dry ingredients alternately with water. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 375º for 12 minutes. Cool on rack
