1 c toasted unblanched chopped almonds
(toast in oven about 10 munutes at 350)
1/2 # butter
2 tbsp water
1 c sugar
1/3 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
6 oz milk chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle half the toasted nuts on a well buttered large cookie sheet. Melt butter in heavy saucepan, add sugars and water and bring to boil. Stir constantly. Cook to 300º on candy thermometer (hard crack stage). Remove from heat and stir in soda. Working fast, pour over nuts in pan, spreading evenly with back of spoon if necessary. Cool 5 minutes and sprinkle chocolate chips over candy. When melted, spread chocolate evenly and add remaining almonds, patting with hand to set them in chololate. Refrigerate to set. Break into pieces. Makes 1 1/2 lbs.
