1 C butter
1 1/2 C brown sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
2 C flour
1 t baking soda
1 t cinnamon
1 t ground ginger
1/2 t salt
12 oz choc chips
1 C chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter. Add the brown sugar, egg and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts. Chill until firm.

Roll into 1 inch balls and dredge in powdered sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes at 375. Cool 5 minutes on sheets and them remove to a wire rack.

The ground ginger in this recipe makes these cookies really great. I like to use pecans for the nuts, but walnuts are good, too.
