1 cup rice
1 stick butter (Aunts Jane and M.E. cut this down to ½ to ¾ stick so not so greasy)
½ cup chopped onions
½ cup slivered almonds
2 tablespoons chicken base
½ pound very sharp grated Cheddar cheese
1 can of chopped or sliced mushrooms

Directions:

Cook rice and add chicken base and cheddar cheese. Mix well and add mushrooms and almonds. Put in buttered baking dish. Cook at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes (longer if ingredients are cold.)
