3/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter or shortening
6 tbsp. white sugar
6 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. water
1 egg
1 c. oats
1 six oz pkg (1 cup) semi-sweet chocoate chips

Heat oven to moderate (375). Sift together flour, soda and salt; set aside. Blend butter, sugars, vanilla dn water. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in oats and chocoate chips. Drop by rounded half-teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet for 10 - 12 minutes.
