1/2 C. soft shortening (Crisco)
1/2 C. granulated sugar (can substitute 1/4 C. Splenda Blend)
1 Egg
1-1/2 C. sifted flour
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 C. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Sift together the dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk. Grease muffin pans and fill 2/3 full. Bake at 350 until golden brown, about 20 to 25 mins. Let cool slightly. Melt 9 T.butter and mix 3/4 C. granulated sugar (can substitute Splenda) with 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Dip tops of warm muffins in butter and then in the sugar-cinammon mixture.
