1 cup milk (scalded)
1/3 cup shortening --part butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs (beaten until foamy )
2 Tablespoons yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water
approximately 5 cups flour (sifted )

Directions:
Directions:
Mix milk, shortening, salt together until shortening is melted. add eggs and beat. Add flour slowly while beating. Knead and place in a greased bowl. Let rise until double. Knead again and pluck off about 1 tablespoon of dough and place in greased muffin pans. Put two 'plucks' of dough in each muffin in. Let rise again until double bulk. Bake at 375º for 20 minutes.

Baking the rolls in the muffin tins is a fun and different way to bake rolls. Serve with fresh or frozen homemade jam or jelly.
