4 cups peeled figs
2 cups sugar
1 small box Jello (orange or strawberry)
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. lemon juice
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Dissolve Jello in water on low heat.
2. Add lemon juice and pinch of salt.
3. Add sugar, stir until almost boiling.
4. Add figs, cook uncovered on low heat, 45 to 60 mins.
5. Put in pint or half-pint jars. Makes several pints.

This is as good as figs get! Nan Ruth (Steib) used strawberry Jello, and I prefer orange Jello (so I call mine fig marmalade).
