2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup Crisco
4 tbsp cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together 2 cups flour and 2 cups sugar in large bowl and set aside.

Combine 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup Crisco, 4 tablespoons cocoa, and 1 cup of water. Put in sauce pan and bring to a rapid boil, then pour over flour and sugar mixture. Mix well.

Add 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 slightly-beaten eggs, 1 teaspoon soda, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well and pour into greased pan and bake about 35 minutes or more, if needed.
