4 - 5 cans red kidney beans
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
2 - 3 celery stalks, chopped
3 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
2 bay leaves
3 c ham, cubed
1 c water
red and/or black pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a large crockpot. Cook all day ( 6-8 hours) on low heat. Add more water if needed. Serve over cooked white rice. (You can use one pound dry kidney beans instead of the canned ones. If so, soak them overnight before cooking.)
