1/2 cup crisco
1 stick margarine
2 cups sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups coconut
2 cups pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream crisco, margarine and sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time, then add dry ingredients alternately with vanilla and buttermilk. Stir in coconut and pecans. Fold in beaten egg whites and bake in greased and floured cake pans at 350º for 30 minutes or until done.
Icing
1stick margarine
1 cup pecans
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese
Cream together and ice cold cake. If you like a lot of nuts add more.
