1/2 CUP BROWN OR WHITE SUGAR
1/2 TEASPOON CINNAMON
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
PINCH OF SALT

MIX WELL AND ADD 2 CUPS, STALE BREAD CUBED OR CRUMBED, 1/2 CUP RAISINS (OPTIONAL)

BAKE 350º 40 TO 50 MIN.

This recipe what handed down from mother to daughter as far back as my mother Edith can remember. It may even go back as far as English ancestory. It was used to make a pudding out of stale home made bread, so it wasn't waisted. Also gave a sweet pudding for the children. A sugar syrup of sugar and water with nutmeg in it was cooked up to put on top.
