Fill a one gallon glass jar or ice cream pail with onions and small cucumbers (thinly sliced). Put in layers until your jar is full. Put the following sauce on the cucumbers.

Syrup: 3 cups vinegar
3 cups sugar
1/3 cup pickling salt
1 tsp. tumeric
1 tsp. celery seed

Bring syrup to a boil and pour over cucumbers.
