A Cookbook Success Story

A Cookbook Success Story

We received an email from Tom Fowler who shared with us his cookbook story and I thought our cookbook editors would enjoy enjoy how he created his three cookbooks.

We started our family cookbook when our son was in college. He took an apartment with some friends during the summer of 1992 and they began to favor him as the cook since his mother made sure her was handy in the kitchen. He would call occasionally for recipes or guidance for procedures. That’s when we had the idea of making the cookbook.

I found some clunky cookbook software and managed couple of editions before they discontinued support of the software. Even with the software it was tough when you had to manage your own printing, cutting pages and drilling holes to fit three hole binders.

I discovered Family Cookbook Project in 2016 when I was searching for a replacement software. I bought the lifetime membership.  It was a much better alternative and I have been a happier editor ever since. The cookbook is in its fifth edition; the last three have been with Family Cookbook Project.

As requested, I am attaching a photo showing our three editions. Thank you for making the project a lot of fun, affordable and ONLINE. The availability of the online edition adds so much additional utility.  And, thank you for your excellent service and quality production. And, as I pointed out in my foreword to this edition, I know it is being used because I get calls about mistakes and omissions.

We love when our editors share their stories with us. Thanks for sharing Tom!
