HARD SAUCE RECIPE TO GO ON TOP OF "PLUM PUDDING" RECIPE.

HARD SAUCE:

1/3 to 1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine;
1 cup Confectioner's Sugar;
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract.

With Spoon or Electric Mixer, beat butter with Sugar until Fluffy and Creamy. Add Vanilla Extract. Pile High into Pretty Dish. Regrigerate until Firm. Serve on the Steamed Puddings (Plum)...the recipe of which I can't find.

From Honey's typewritten Notes: QUOTE: "This is a plum pudding, made by your Dad's Grandmother Williams' recipe....Tradition in the Sr. Williams family at Christmas (for all except Uncle Fred, who got fruit cake instead).

Steam it in a double boiler until warmed through - takes awhile. Serve at the table (advise small portions) and Pass the Hard Sauce.

Your (Shelley, Mike, Diane, Melissa's) Great Grandmother Williams must have made Tons. All the tradesmen, the doctor, lawyer, yardman, dentist, minister, etc., etc., got one every Christmas! ENJOY!"
