1 pkg. yellow cake mix. (Set aside 1 cup.)
1/2 C. melted butter
3 eggs
1 can of pumpkin (16 oz.)
1/2 C. brown sugar
2/3 C. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 C. sugar
1/2 C. nuts (optional)

Directions:

Add melted butter to 1 egg (beaten) and cake mix. Make a paste and press into greased 9x13x2 pan. Combine pumpkin, 2 eggs, brown sugar and milk. Mix completely and pour over cake dough in pan. Mix nutmeg, the 1 C. cake mix, cinnamon, cake dough in pan. Mix nutmeg, the 1 C. cake mix, cinnamon, sugar and nuts (if used); sprinkle over the cake. Bake at 350º or 45 minutes or until cake sticks clean. Serve with whipped cream.
