3 cups sugar 1 cup evaporated milk ¼ cup light corn syrup ½ cup water 3 T margarine 2 t vanilla ½ t salt ½ cup chopped cherries or nuts
Combine ingredients and mix well. Heat, stirring constantly to boiling, then cook rapidly to soft ball stage. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool until lukewarm. Beat 2-3 minutes. Spread in buttered pan 8”x8”x2”. Let stand several minutes until set. Cut into squares.
