4 1/2 cups milk
2/3 cup rolled oats (not instant)
2/3 cup oat bran
2 pieces fruit (two pears, two apples, two peaches); pared, cored and chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Mix milk, oats and bran in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, covered, on full power for 10 minutes. Remove and stir.

Add fruit. Microwave at half power for 5 minutes. Remove and stir.

If necessary, microwave at 30% power for 5 minutes. Remove, stir and keep hot over simmering water until served.

Serve with milk, brown sugar, granola, sour cream or whatever sounds good.

Note: Hard fruit, such as apples, or dried fruit, such as apriconts or dates, should be added in the first step.

Other good fruit combinations are peaches cooked in the soup with fresh raspberries sprinkled on top; dried apricots (about 4 per person) which have been quartered and plumped by soaking overnight in boiling water; whole seedless grapes, green or red; apples with raisins.
