4 c. all-purpose flour
2 T. Crisco
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3 T. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
Salad oil for deep frying

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients two times, then cut in the Crisco and add milk to make a soft dough. Cover bowl and let stand 30-60 minutes. Roll dough 1/4" thick on lightly floured board and cut into diamond shaped pieces. Heat about 1" of oil in frying pan and cook a few pieces at a time. Turn at once so they will puff evenly. Turn back to brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Serve with butter. Makes 4 dozen.
