2 eggs, separated
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 T. vanilla
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup milk
1 3/4 cups fresh Maine blueberries

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 1/4 cup of sugar to keep them stiff. Cream the shortening - add salt, vanilla, and remaining sugar. Gradually add unbeaten egg yolks. Beat until light and creamy. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Fold in beaten egg whites. Shake blueberries in "a bit of flour" and fold into mixture. Turn into pan or muffin tins. Sprinkle top of batter lightly with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350º for 40-45 minutes.
