4 oz salt pork
3 Qt turnip greens
1 Pd. Turnips
2 1/2 Qt Boiling Water
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup white corn meal
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3 tlbs butter or margarine
1 beaten egg

Directions:
Dice salt pork, wash and trim grens, pare and quarter turnips. In a large kettle, bring 21/2 quarts water to boiling. Add salt pork, greens, turnips, and the 1tsp salt, simmer, cover cook for approx two hours. Remove one cup of pot liquor from kettle, pour over corn meal stir, then add 1/2 tsp salt butter, and egg. spoon a rounded tablespoon at a time over simmering greens. Cover and simmer 30-minutes. Be sure to serve the pot liquor with this Southern Classic
