1 lb. margarine
1 c. white sugar
1 c. light brown sugar
1 egg
pinch of salt
1 tsp. soda in 1 T. water
1 tsp. vanilla
4-5 c. flour to handle
1 c. crushed pecans if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Bake 375º for 10-12 min. (until brown) cream margarine with the sugars ,beat the egg and add . Add salt and soda and the vanilla and continue beating adding the flour slowly. Refrigerate overnight and then roll out on floured surface and cut shapes with cookie cutters. After cooled, decorate with frosting or eat plain.

Cookies made by my mother, Grandma Morgan who was taught by her mother. I made these cookies every year for my two children who also learned and now I make them with Jack and Emily . Most kids love the cookie dough so be prepared for a minor stomach ache. Great cookies to dunk in milk or coffee.
