2-3 pounds beef shank
3 carrots, peeled and chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 28 ounce can tomatoes, chopped, including juice
5 cups water
5 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 pound dry lentils
1/8 teaspoon mace
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 medium zucchini, chopped
1/2 head cabbage, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
Put everything except cabbage and zucchini into a large pot, simmer a few hours. Add zucchini and cabbage, cook on medium heat for an additional 30-45 minutes. Remove bones, chop meat into bite size pieces before serving.
