1 c. Raisins
1/3 c. water
1 6-oz. pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
2 c. quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
1-1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350ºF. In small saucepan, combine raisins and
water. Bring to boil; remove from heat. Cover; let stand 5
minutes. Place in blender, food processor or food grinder;
blend 10 seconds. Add chocolate pieces; chop with on/off
motion 10 seconds. Set aside. In medium bowl combine oats,
flour, salt and soda. In large bowl, beat together butter and
sugars until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients. Stir in raising mixture and
pecans; mix well. Drop by rounded teasoonfuls onto
ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute
on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack.
