1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup of milk or water
1 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp each of vanilla, and lemon extract
8 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy. add milk or water into flour add other powder ingredients. beat egg whites stiff, fold in last. bake in loaf pan or three layers.

use icing of your choice
