1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
8oz. cream cheese, softened
1 egg
2 T. sugar
20oz. cherry pie filling, divided
1 1/2 c. Cool Whip

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 º. Prepare cake mix as directed on box, set aside. Mix cheese, egg and sugar until well blended. Remove 3/4 of the pie filling for garnish and set aside. Spoon 2 T. of the cake mix into each of 24 paper-lined cupcake tins. Top each with 1 T. each of the cheese mixture and the remaining pie filling. Cover evenly with cake batter. Bake 20-25 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and set on wire racks. Continue to cool completely. Top cupcakes with whipped topping and remaining pie filling just before serving.
