2 c. brown sugar
3 1/2 c. flour
7/8 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter then add the sugar, mixing well. Add the beaten eggs and vanilla. Add the sifted dry ingredients and the nuts. Form into a long roll or two equal rolls. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Remove from plasic wrap and place on a floured board. Cut in 1/8-inch slices and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375º. Remove immediately from cookie sheet and let cool on a wire rack.
