"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Mary's Banana Bread, by Maureen, is from The Shanahan Family Cookbook ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 heaping c. sugar 2 eggs 3 T. melted butter 2 T. sour milk 2 c. flour sifted with 1 tsp. baking soda 3 ripe bananas mashed with a fork
Add ingredients in order, mixing well after each addition. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hr. in wax paper lined bread pan. Test doneness with toothpick - some bananas are very moist & make the bread take a bit longer to bake.
From Mary O'Bryan, Maureen's mom.
Tip: To make Sour Milk just add a few drops of vinegar to the 2 T. milk in the recipe
