½ cup shortening
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
¾ tsp soda
½ tsp baking powder
3 to 4 handfuls of chocolate chips

Directions:

Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars and egg. Blend in flour, soda and baking powder. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown.

It helps to put a little extra peanut butter, sugar, chocolate and love into these cookies. I usually double the recipe due to watering mouths!
I'm famous for this dessert. I love making these for everyone, but my favorite person to make these for is my Dad. I'll be home for 5 minutes before he asks me when I'll be making his cookies. Then once I give in, he pours a glass of ice cold milk for both of us, sits down and says "oh yea homes!" Some of our best conversations are over milk, cookie dough and warm cookies. These are some of my favorite moments with my Dad.
