3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Mix together sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in a pan. Cook full power 20 to 22 minutes or to a hard boil stage. 10 to 12 minutes in a microwave. Stir once or twice during cooking.
While syrup cooks, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, in a large mixing bowl. Gradually pour hot syrup over the egg whites, while beating at a high speed. Beat until mixture is thickened and candy starts to lose its gloss. Beating may require 12 to 15 minutes. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper.

A big box of this divinity was a traditional gift from me to my Dad, Bill Gill every Christmas Eve. His favorite!
