1 lb. ground beef, cooked and drained
1 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 cups (16 oz. size can) tomatoes, cut up
2 cups kidney beans (16 oz. size can), drained
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
1-2 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Cook meat, onion and green peppers until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Add all other ingredients. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. REMOVE BAY LEAF.

Serve with cornbread, crackers or in bread bowls. Sprinkle with grated cheese, if desired.
