1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 t. vanilla
1 t. salt
1 t. soda
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugars, beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and soda - add to first mixture. Combine oatmeal and nuts - add to mixture. Blend, form into long rolls and chill. Slice 1/4 inch thick; bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 10 minutes.
