"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Jane Fisher's Minty Iced Tea, by Marion Fisher, is from Cooking with The Millers,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
6 tea bags 2 cups boiling water 6 sprigs of fresh mint 1 1/4 cups sugar 1 qt. cold water 2-3 fresh lemons
Steep tea bags in boiling water with mint for 3 minutes. Squeeze bags gently and remove, leaving the mint. Add sugar and water. When cool, add the juice and rinds of lemons. After 3 minutes, remove the lemon rinds. After 10 minutes, strain the tea and add 1 tray of ice.
This is a nice variation from the typical iced tea.
