3/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 to 1/2 cup honey
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups uncooked oats (not 5-minute kind)

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup finely grated pecans
1 cup white raisins or chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening, brown sugar, honey, egg and water until creamy. Add all other ingredients. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes. Cool on racks.
