1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the sugar and shortening together. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of a walnut. Then roll in mixture of 2 T. sugar, 2 tsp. cinnamon. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350º for 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies will puff at first, then flatten with crinkled top.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
